# Why did I get charged automatically for more credits?

> Understand auto top-up and credit charges.

This happens when auto top-up is enabled. Auto top-up is enabled by default when you have a saved payment method. When your account credits run low, Shapes, Inc. refills your balance so your Shapes can keep running.

Auto top-up is shown during checkout when you buy credits. It is also explained in the [Terms of Service](https://shapes.inc/terms).

If you do not want to use auto top-up, remove your saved payment method from **Payment History** on [shapes.inc/premium](https://shapes.inc/premium).
