# Welcome to Shapes, Inc.

> Shapes, Inc. is the app for AI with friends. Talk to AI, people, or both in the same chat. Use Shapes other people made, or make your own and run them on 300+ models.

Shapes, Inc. is the app for **AI with friends**.

Most AI chats are just you and a model in a private window. On Shapes, Inc., you can start a chat with people, Shapes, or both at once. A Shape can follow the same conversation your friends see, jump in when it makes sense, and help the chat move somewhere none of you planned.

The AI characters you talk to are called **Shapes**. You can chat with Shapes other people made, or make your own and run it on [300+ models](/choosing-a-model), most of them free.

These docs split into two short tracks. Choose the one that fits you. You can always cross over later.
